Obtaining Software

The UF Software CD contains campus networking and communications software and some site-licensed programs. Dialup, email and browser software is configured for and/or instructions are included for use of GatorLink services. The Software CD is available for a minimal cost at the UF Computing Help Desk or the UF Bookstore.

In addition to the UF Software CD, the Help Desk sells Academic versions of Adobe media for personal or home use of UF students, faculty and staff, including Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.

Popular software products are available on campus from the UF Bookstore Technology Hub.

Software Licensing Services offers a web-based catalog and download site for UF discounted or site-licensed software, public domain and shareware software at http://www.software.ufl.edu. Email software@ufl.edu or call 392-SOFT for more information. Some software is licensed only for department purchases; other is for personal purchases.

Most computer software is the intellectual property of individuals or corporations. Unauthorized copying of software is a violation of U.S. copyright law and can violate specific UF contracts.
